Figure 85. The new solenoid is in, so now work on the transmission can proceed again. The plan is to install the new solenoid, button up the bottom, install the servos, install the bellhousing and torque converter, and celebrate the completion of the 4L60E.
Figure 86. Push in the solenoid, and use a pick to pull the retaining clip out. Make sure you have your finger over the clip so it does not fly off. Ask how I know this. Pull the old solenoid out and put the new solenoid in. Reinstall the clip.

Figure 88. The pan is installed. Torque the bolts to 120 inch lbs. The stainless bolts look very nice with the black pan. These bolts were purchased from Fastenal, way cheaper than getting them from an auto parts supplier. They are M8 x 16mm.
